artist feature: aakash nihalani.

its been a while since my last artist feature mostly due to the fact that a majority of the shows i've been to lately have been have been all over the internet already. i live in LA where most people go to art openings for the free drinks and what seems like armies of photographers trying to beat each other to get the best shots and take credit for whatever it is they credit themselves for. aakash nihalani is an artist from NY who uses brightly colored electrical tape to create 3-D geometric patterns on just about anything. i'd been seeing his stuff for the past couple years but had no idea who the man behind the art was until i somehow stumbled across his tumblr account of all things. (thanks interweb jesus.) from street installations to canvases to corporate boardrooms this guy is killing it with his magic neon tape. see more at his super dope website here: AAKASH NIHALANI

favorite bands that no longer exists: blackblack.

they stopped playing in '08.. maybe '09 i wanna say, but at least we still have these videos to remember them by. luckily i was smart enough to buy their wonderfully handcrafted eps when they were still playing. diva, on main vocals has gone solo releasing a 7" on record store day. i'll be posting more about that in the near future. stay tuned.
